NYSI Satellite, 26 April 2019 – It was an afternoon of professional development for 24 coaches and staff from ITE College East and ITE College West. Vincent Ong, NYSI Head of Youth Coaching, shared the key elements of transformational and constraints-based coaching.

Ravi Thangaraju, ITE College West Course Manager, said, “We found the learning effective, as the practical elements are easy to understand. At the end of the day, we walked away with the key concepts of transformational and constraints-based coaching. The implementation may be easier for team sports compared to individual sports. We can check on the coaches in six months’ time to monitor their progress.”

The coaches were able to put the principles of constraints-based coaching into immediate practice, working in small groups to demonstrate how they can utilise constraints to improve the learnings of their students.

”I like the way Vincent conducted the workshop, making the audience feel comfortable and encouraging the sharing of ideas on how we apply constraints-based coaching to our training so that we can learn from each other's experience. That's powerful!” added Ong Bok Liong, ITE College East Course Manager.
